Implant sites vary widely from patient to patient. Two-dimensional (2D) images, such as intra-oral or panoramic images, are insufficient for implant site assessment. This concept is verified by the American Acadamy Of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and confirmed by the American Dental Society. Even conventional tomography has drawbacks due to overlapping objects of high attenuation.
With Conebeam volumetric imaging, you can see anatomy without magnification and anatomy overlap. The proposed implant site can be visualised in three image planes: sagittal, axial and coronal! A detailed interpretative study regarding the implant site(s) is provided to the referring dentist.
