Services offered at Carolina OMF Imaging:

Dental Implant Site Evaluation

Implant sites vary widely from patient to patient. Two-dimensional (2D) images, such as intra-oral or panoramic images, are insufficient for implant site assessment. This concept is verified by the American Acadamy Of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology and confirmed by the American Dental Society.  Even conventional tomography has drawbacks due to overlapping objects of high attenuation.

With Conebeam volumetric imaging, you can see anatomy without magnification and anatomy overlap. The proposed implant site can be visualised in three image planes: sagittal, axial and coronal! A detailed interpretative study regarding the implant site(s) is provided to the referring dentist.

Temporomandibular Joint Evaluation

Conebeam imaging offers high resolution images of the condylar surface, articular (glenoid) fossa, and articular eminence to  evaluate:

         -condylar morphology

         -condlye-fossa relationships

Third molar, canine, supernumerary , and impaction localization can be challenging.

Conebeam  imaging visualizes impaction(s) from all angles and in correct orientation. The result is a predictable surgical approach.

Pathology Evaluation

Conebeam imaging allows more precise pre-surgical planning of odontogenic lesions, sialoliths, lingual vascular canals, etc.

The imaging process provides multiplanar imaging and 3D reconstruction to allow better visualization of the inferior alveolar nerve and other anatomic structures.

Diagnostic Evaluation

Conebeam imaging provides information regarding signs and symptoms of trauma, oral facial pain, and other difficult to diagnose maladies.

Orthodontic Evaluation

Conebeam imaging provides cephalometric imaging and localization of malpositioned and supernumerary teeth.
